Leona Rolston, 67, of Russellville, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

She was born Aug. 30, 1940, at Sheldon, Iowa, to Alexander and Florence DeKraii Boone. She worked closely with her husband for several years managing different businesses. She worked at The Copper Pig for many years and also as a bookkeeper. She attended the Church of the Brethren in Sheldon, Iowa, and the Christian Missionary Alliance in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Jerry Rolston of Russellville; a son, Ryan Rolston of Russellville; a daughter, Jodi Simpson of Russellville; her mother, Florence Boone of Sheldon, Iowa; two sisters, Carol VanBeek and Lola VanKalsbeek, both of Sheldon, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Ray Rolston of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Jan Fritts of Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 29, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Mark Wood officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Vernon Howard, Jay Winters, Robert Paul Leavell, Roger Owens, Charlie Poynter, and Ellis Luningham. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Russellville and the Church of the Brethren in Sheldon, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
