Jessalyn Davis
Jessalyn Ramsey Davis, 60, let go of this life on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at her home in Russellville where she was surrounded by many who loved her.
Jessalyn was born at Walnut, Ark., on March 27, 1947, to Jess and Pauline Ramsey. She attended Deer Public Schools where she met the love of her life, Melvin L. Davis. They were married on Feb. 18, 1968, and lived in Kansas City, Mo., for several years before moving back to Arkansas where Jessalyn worked for Arkansas Nuclear One until her retirement in 2003. Jessie was a wonderful person who enhanced life for all who knew her. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jessalyn was preceded in death by her father, Jess Ramsey of Deer, and her mother-in-law, Francis Davis, of Harrison.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin; her cherished only child, Donovan Davis of Fayetteville; and her precious granddaughter, Rayne Thone Davis of Russellville; her mother, Pauline Beckham Ramsey of Jasper and nine siblings, Jan Larson, Sheri Strick, Judy Schenk and husband, David, all of Jasper, Don Ramsey and wife, Kay, of Ozone, Pat Adams and husband, Bill, of Norfork, Kathy Lord and husband, Terry, of Kansas City, Mo., Carla Weeks and husband, Ron, of North Little Rock, Mike Ramsey and wife, Carol, of Keller, Texas, and Lisa Anderson and husband, Carl, of Texarkana, Texas; her brother-in-law, Eugene Davis and wife, Earlene, of Jasper and her sister-in-law, Pat Jackson and husband, Forrest, of Harrison; several nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Jim McWilliams, Linda Frala and Becky Pendergrass and numerous other long-time friends.
Funeral services were Friday at the Dover Church of Christ with Minister Micah Williams officiating. Burial was at Coleman Cemetery in Pelsor, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were nephews Mike Larson, Kenny Larson, Bert Breedlove, Jes Ramsey, William Schenk, Terry Lord, Sam Lord, Sumner Anderson, and Ramsey Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Statler, Jeff Hudson and Ben Strick.
