Cortney Hames

 

Cortney Michelle Hames, 15, of Harrison passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

The daughter of Allen Hames and Jeannie (Keeter) Hames was born July 7, 1991, at Harrison. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Western Grove, where she was a very active member of the youth group. Cortney was also a 10th grade student at Valley Springs High School. She was a member of the Perry County Riding Club and Arkansas Valley Horse Show Association.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Wayne Hames.

She is survived by her parents, Allen Hames and Jeannie (Keeter) Hames of Harrison; two sisters, Jerian Clarke and her husband, Steve, of Forsythe, Mo. and Megan Hames of Harrison; one brother, Joshua and his wife, Kesha Hames, of Little Rock Air Force Base, Jacksonville; one nephew, Matthew Clarke; paternal grandparent, Ann Hames of Center Ridge; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Peggy Keeter of Harrison; great-grandfather, Luther Keeter of Harrison; great-grandmother, Jeanne Rush of Jasper; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were Monday at Valley Springs School. Jack Searcy officiated and other speakers were Kelly Evanson and Charles Trammell. Burial was in Bellefonte Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Hames, Joshua Hames, Steve Clarke, Justin Keeter, Ryan Keeter, Connie Hames, Mark Zinser and Dr. Geoffrey Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers included Jeff "Buddy" Keeter, Brian Mortier, Damien, Michael and Austin Bidgood, Kary Hames, Western Grove First Baptist youth group, and students and staff at Valley Springs High School.
