Roy Egbert
Albert LeRoy Egbert Jr., 89, passed away on March 6, 2007 in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born on July 26, 1917 in Basin, Idaho, and was the son of Albert LeRoy Egbert Sr. and Lydia Ann Tolman Egbert.
He married Louise Wooten on Feb. 14, 1946 in the Presbyterian Church in Hector. They moved to Tulsa, Okla. in January of 1949. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving faithfully in the church in many positions. He served a two year mission for the church in Kentucky and West Virginia.
His career was electronics and first class stationary engineer. He loved working in his vegetable garden and flowers often raising enough vegetables to share with neighbors and especially widows in the church. He loved working with his hands, building anything he was asked to build.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clarence of Murtaugh, Idaho, Dale of Salt Lake City, Utah and James of Provo, Utah; two sisters, Emma Larson of Preston, Idaho and Leah Johnson of Orem, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Egbert; a daughter, Linda Gail Egbert of Tulsa; a son, Gary LeRoy Egbert and wife, Penny, of Tomball, Texas; a grandson, Brian Kinyon Egbert of Austin, Texas; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Gail and Holly Ann Egbert, both of Tomball; a brother, Burl Egbert of St. George, Utah.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tulsa with Bishop James Slater conducting. Interment was at Floral Haven Cemetery.
