Mary Lee
Harelson
Mary Lee Harelson, of Atkins, Arkansas passed away March 17, 2007 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 3, 1927 in Lanty, (Conway County) and was the daughter of the Elmer Lee and Mary Krisell Bizzell.
She attended Morrilton High School and married her husband, Euel "Crip" Harelson, Nov. 1, 1946 at First Baptist Church in Morrilton. Mary Lee was a member of First Baptist Church in Atkins for over 50 years and was very active in the church until she was diagnosed with cancer in 1978.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Euel "Crip" Harelson of Atkins; three sons, David Harelson and wife, Sharon of Atkins, Donald Harelson of Atkins and Dennis Harelson and wife, Anne of Russellville; five grandchildren, Melissa Kendall, Nicole Harelson, Kristen Finley, Hillary Elliott, and Kelsey Harelson; two great-grandchildren, Turner Harelson and Kayla Kendall; one brother, Elmo Bizzell and wife, Lillian of Atkins; two sisters, Mildred Mallett of Nolden, Mo. and Ruth Clark and husband, Bill, of Santee, Calif.; and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Cecil Bizzell; four sisters, Jean Gwin, Vivion Lewis, Willard Cooper and Mildred Mallett.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Atkins with Rev. Robbie Jackson and Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Turner Harelson, Ben Finley, Chris Elliott, and nephews, Lynn Embry, Gary Simmons and Phillip Klober.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zetta Embry and Ruth Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Atkins.
