Stevie Nuckols

Stevie Dale Nuckols, 51, of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

He was born Dec. 5, 1955, at Kansas City, Mo., to Marshall Lee and Ludie Weoma Davis Nuckols. He was a former electrician at Arkansas Nuclear One and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Russellville Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his first wife, Tina Shelton Nuckols; and an uncle, Dean Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Velta Inez Nuckols of Dardanelle; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Amber Nuckols of Dardanelle, Mitchell Nuckols of Fayetteville, and Matthew Nuckols of Dardanelle; two step-sons and a step-daughter-in-law, Michael and Laquita Newport of Dardanelle and Chad Newport of Hector; his father, Marshall Nuckols of Dardanelle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Helen Nuckols and Russell and Shannon Nuckols, all of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Ethan Paul Nuckols, Lane Michael Newport, and Brookelynn Grace Nuckols all of Dardanelle; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held at Saturday at Shinn Chapel with Pastor Tom McElmurry officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers were Dale Pockrus, Roy Pyle, Wayne Poore, Allen Bishop, David Berge, and Thomas Fowler. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Miller, Scott Moore, the Yell County Sheriff's Department, and United States military personnel, active or inactive.
