Norma Rollans

Norma Eliza Wilson Rollans, 101, of Russellville, went to meet her Savior on Monday, Feb.18, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Earl and Janie Foster Wilson of Russellville, born Aug. 10, 1906. Norma was affectionately referred to by many as Red or Nana and was a source of strength and inspiration that touched many lives.
A member of her beloved Central Presbyterian Church, she was active in the Presbyterian Women’s Organization and received joy from serving others. Norma retired from Croom’s and Lefler’s as a seamstress after nearly a half of century of sewing for most of the women in the River Valley. She had a phenomenal memory and loved telling friends and family the history of Russellville in great detail. Her life-loving laughter and indomitable spirit will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fay Rollans; her youngest son, Richard Allen Rollans; her four brothers, Frank, Harry “Buddy,” Joe and Walter Wilson; and her three sisters, Louise Hill, Virginia Powell and Elizabeth Guston.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses, James and Marian Rollans of Mt. Ulla, N.C., and David and Georganne Rollans of Russellville; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Rollans of Russellville, six grandchildren and their spouses; twelve great-grandchildren; and many cherished nephews and nieces.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at Shinn Funeral Service in Russellville on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Central Presbyterian Church on Friday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, by Shinn Funeral Service.
