Wall seeks re-election
Pope County Treasurer, Donna Wall, will run for re-election in the Republican Primary,
May 20. Mrs. Wall has extensive experience working in County government with eleven years’ experience working
in the Pope County Treasurer’s
office.
Wall is a lifelong resident
of Pope County, residing
in Atkins since 1978. She is the daughter of the late Ira and Una Lee Garrigus
Cochran of Hector. She has been married to Vic Wall, a private contractor, for 35 years. They have three children, Daniel, Emily and Amanda.
She is a graduate of Hector High School and from Arkansas
Tech University, where she earned a degree in economics and finance. She is a member of Happy Valley Assembly of God Church, the Pope County Republican Women, the Russellville
Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas County Treasurer’s
Association.
The treasurer’s office is responsible for receipting all county revenue, distribution of local taxes to schools, cities and improvement districts, as well as all accounts payable. The treasurer is also the head of the payroll department, processing
a biweekly payroll totaling more than $6 million annually. All benefit programs, as well as insurance billings, for the employees
are handled
by the staff of the treasurer’s office.
