Gladys Snider

Gladys M. Snyder, 90, of Jacksonville, formerly of Atkins, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Baptist Hospital. 

She was born in Pope County, May 16, 1916, the daughter of F. D. and Sennie Hale Tackett, and during World War II she worked at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant, and was awarded a “Rosie the Riveter” Home Front Appreciation certificate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Snyder, and two grandchildren, Gina and Michael Resecker. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ray Malcom of Sherwood; granddaughters, Jennifer Reedy of Cabot and Gretchen Coven of Sherwood and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Atkins with Rev. David Bishop officiating.

Pallbearers were Skip Cartwright, Kenny Cartwright, Phillip Cartwright, Joe Lieggi, Harold Hillard and Jimmy Freeling.  Burial was in Atkins Catholic Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
